CONDOLENCES

It is with great sadness we learned of the passing of club member Mary Hofstede last week. Mary was a long serving member of the club and will be greatly missed. Our understanding at this time is that Mary’s funeral may not take place for a few weeks. Funeral arrangements will be sent out once we are notified. Ou thoughts are with her family at this sad time. May she rest in peace.

OPEN MIXED TEAM COMPETITION

On Friday this week we have a mixed team competition. This is part of our Centenary calendar and is an attempt to get ladies and gents playing on the same team. The format is simple with two scores to count on each hole. Any combination of ladies and gents is acceptable – three ladies and one gent or two ladies and two gents or one lady and three gents. Some of you may be a little shy to ask ladies or gents to play on your team – if so put your name on the timesheet and others will join. We have had a few requests to get ladies for gents – and gents for ladies – but putting your name on the timesheet is the easiest method. Please make this fun competition a success!

CENTENARY BOOK ON SALE

Our Centenary book is selling well and thank you to everyone who has purchased to date. The book can be bought in the office, Pro Shop and Bar.

JB CARR TEAM

Our JB Carr team took on Waterford GC on Tuesday last. The match was played in Dungarvan and it was the County Semi Finals stage. We came out on top with a 4-1 scoreline. We now take on Faithlegg GC in the County Final. Faithlegg defeated Tramore in their Semi Final. The match against Faithlegg will be played over two legs (home and away) and it must be concluded on or before 29th May. The first leg will be played in Dungarvan.

REVIVE ACTIVE

Our Revive active team were playing weekend of 5th May in a home and away 4 ball match play vs Lismore. Niamh Reynolds & Edel Walsh, Cathie O’Mahony & Joanne Lannen played in Dungarvan while Carmel O’Brien & Teresa Hayes, Joanne Fitzgerald & Linda Buckley and Bridget Aherne & Grace Hayes played in Lismore. Unfortunately, Lismore proved the stronger team on the day and we wish them the best of luck in the next round.

MIXED FOURSOMES TEAM

Our Mixed foursome Team played away against the Gold Coast on Saturday 5th last in dry conditions.  The match finished 2-2, which was a good result. Unfortunately, this necessitated a sudden death playoff on the 19th, which was won by Gold Coast players. Best of luck to the Goldcoast GC in the next round.
