This Saturday and Sunday 27th & 28th of July Lady Captain Kolette Enright presents her Captains Prize. We wish Kolette the best of luck and hope that the weather is good for a change!

Kolette was born in Dublin but has strong links to Dungarvan having many relatives in the area. She has lived in Dungarvan for 25years and worked as an Optometrist, having set up her own company Eyes on the Road in 2005. She has been an active member of DGC for many years. Entries will close on Thursday 25th July at 5pm and the draw will be posted on the club website on Friday morning. Two 18-hole stroke rounds will be played and the aggregate score over the two rounds will determine the overall winner. SENIOR MENS INTERCLUB TEAM

We now have confirmation that the Munster Final will be played in Thurles GC on Sunday, 18th August. The opposition will be the team from Limerick GC.

JB CARR TEAM

We had a 2-3 deficit heading into the second leg of our Munster Semifinal against Charleville GC. The second leg was played at home last Friday and we had a fantastic 4.5 – 0.5 win to give us an overall victory margin of 6.5 – 3.5. Captain Liam Hansbury and PJ Kindregan got the crucial fourth point to ensure an overall victory.

Woodstock defeated Tralee so we will play Woodstock GC in the Munster final. That will be a repeat of last year’s Munster final. This match will be played over 2 legs and both legs must be played on or before 11th August. We are the current Munster champions and fingers crossed for a repeat win in 2024.

MARY MCKENNA TROPHY

Sadly, the Mary McKenna journey ended yesterday after the narrowest of defeats against a very good Clonmel team in the Munster Semi Final. They were defeated 3/2 on the 18th hole. It was a great run for the team to get as far as they did. They all thoroughly enjoyed the experience, and look forward to competing again next year.
