CENTENARY CELEBRATION DINNER

We are excited to host a Centenary celebration dinner on Friday 11^th October at 8pm. Limited tickets are available from the office and are 30 euro. It promises to be a special night to meet friends and we hope our members can join us to celebrate 100 years of Dungarvan Golf Club.

ANNUAL LEFT-HANDERS COMPETITION

The 49^th Annual Lefthanders competition was played for during the past week & its congratulations to the winner one handicapper Alan O’Donnell with a score of 35pts. Best lady was Bridget Aherne (19) with 30pts. Congratulations to you both.

WEEKLY SPAR QUALIFIER

The SPAR Final will be held on Sunday 13^th October. Qualifiers will be notified this week.

LADIES HOME ALLIANCE

The Closing Date for entries is Wednesday 2nd October. You must pay your fee by the closing date if you wish to take part in the Home Alliance Competition.

SWGS SOCIETY VISIT

We welcome over 100 ladies from the Senior Women’s Golf society to our club on Monday 7^th October. There will be no Open Seniors competition on that day.

JUNIOR GOLF NEWS

A fantastic turnout again for our last Junior Coaching lesson of the year last Saturday. Thank you again to everyone who has assisted Pro David Hayes over the past many months with lessons, it couldn’t happen without you.  It was a real pleasure to coach so many eager and happy juniors each weekend and their golf has come on so much since the start of the season. Keep practicing during the winter months! Any enquiries relating to junior activities can be directed to our Junior Convenor David Hayes. AUTUMN MIXED LEAGUE

The Autumn Mixed League will be a team competition and commence on Monday 7^th October and run for ten weeks. Each team will be comprised of ladies and gents with at least one of either gender on each team. The league will play over the first nine holes of any ladies or gents competition in play over the ten-week period.

When entering a competition, a team member in addition to completing his/her scorecard will also complete a mixed league card and submit this card in the dedicated box in the entrance lobby of the clubhouse. The best four cards from four team members of each team will count towards the weekly scoring. The highest accumulated team score winning after ten weeks. In addition to team prizes there will be an individual prize for the highest scoring lady and the highest scoring gent. The closing date for entry is the Wednesday 2^nd October.

We had not 60.com competition on Wednesday 25^th Sept due to poor weather. It is open week this week so no competition but back next week.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
Due to our Autumn Open week there will be no foursomes this Friday (Oct 4). We will be back on Fri (Oct 11). Shotgun start at 9 am. Booking not necessary. We play the Scotch Foursomes on the back nine. This is a real social event and is a great way to meet others especially if you are new to the club. All are welcome.


RULES, PROTOCOL & ETIQUETTE
David Hayes our PGA Professional has kindly offered to host this event on
Monday Oct 14 at 6.30 pm in the clubhouse. This is of interest to everyone especially since some rules have changed.  We all need a refresher in this area. Keep the date free.

LOTTO RESULTS

We held our weekly lotto draw on Friday 27^th September. The numbers drawn were 1, 18, 21, and 22. The jackpot was 3700 and there was no winner. The Jackpot is now 3800. We had one match 3 winner – Pat Fitzgerald who wins 100 euro. The next draw will take place on Friday 4^th October at 3.30pm. Thank you to everyone who supports our Lotto. All funds raised are used to develop our course.
