ATEC FIRE & SECURITY COMPETITION

Congratulations to Will Gough who won our ATEC Fire & Safety 9H league. This league commenced in May and ran through to end September and was a very popular competition. 2^nd place was Danny Reynolds and 3^rd Mairead Flynn. Special thank you goes to ATEC for sponsoring this competition.

ASHES V’S LISMORE

The Ashes V’s Lismore competition will take place in Dungarvan Golf Club on Saturday 2^nd at 11.40am. Entry fee is €10 cash for competition prizes and meal after the competition. Wear club colours if possible. Please print your name on the sheet in Locker room for consideration for the team of 18 players (9 pairings). Selection for the team will be made on Friday prior to match. Play format is fourball better ball stableford match play competition. Presentation of prizes and meal at 6pm in the clubhouse.

AUTUMN MIXED LEAGUE

Our Autumn Mixed League is underway. The list of team names and conditions of play are printed in both locker rooms.

RULES, ETIQUETTE & PROTOCOL
David Hayes (our resident PGA Professional) hosted a really successful evening on rules, etiquette and protocol. He used a very casual approach giving examples of various things which can happen in your round of golf. This encouraged many questions from those in attendance – a real learning experience for all of us. Many thanks also to Tom Daly and Antoinette in the bar for remaining open to facilitate the event.

QUIZ NIGHT

We are holding a fun quiz night on Wednesday 30^th October in the clubhouse at 8pm. We have the fantastic Bob O’Brien as quizmaster and a great night is guaranteed! Teams can be made up on the night also. All are welcome.

LADIES NIGHT AT THE BALLET

After the style and glamour of our trip to the Wexford Opera House last November, Una and I have decided to repeat the event. Ballet Ireland is performing Nutcracker Sweeties on Saturday November 30th and we are planning a return bus from Dungarvan and Kilmacthomas to Wexford, 3 course pre theatre supper in Whites hotel, with tickets to the show. Total cost will be €75 with a deposit of €20 required before November 1st to secure your place. Please add you names to list in locker room. Looking forward to a great night out.

YOUNGONES

Some brave ladies played last Wednesday in mixed weather conditions with 1^st Colette O’Mahony (27) 14pts. Join us on Wednesday 23^rd on the front 9 from 11am – 12.30pm.

60.COM

We had a smaller crowd than normal for our 60.com competition on Wednesday 16 October. The day was wet and dreary but did not stop some excellent results being produced. The winners were: 1^st Martin T. Landers 20pts, 2^nd Craig Susdorf 19pts. If you’re interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES

Last Friday morning was very wet and windy – not very conducive to golf. We had no foursomes but hopefully we will be back this week (Fri Oct 25). We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes on the back nine. It is a social event and a great way to meet other club members. No need to book your place . Just turn up at 8.45am with a shotgun start at 9am.

LOTTO RESULTS

Our Lotto draw took place on Friday 18^th October and the numbers drawn were 3, 12, 14 and 26. The jackpot was €4000 and there was no winner. Our Match 3 winners were Charles Daly and Mossy Fitzgerald who each win €50. The next draw will take place on Friday 25^th October at 3pm and the jackpot is €4,100. Thank you to everyone who supports our Lotto. All funds raised are used to develop our course.

BRIDGE

We had a great crowd for the first of our weekly Bridge last Friday. We are back every Friday at 11am in the clubhouse – all are welcome.
