CONGRATULATIONS

Our President June, Captain Liam and Lady Captain Kolette travelled to the K Club last week to play in the Allianz Golfsure Irish Officers final. Having won the regional final in Cork Golf club they were presented with their winning pennant by Professional golfing legend Paul McGinley. Congratulations June, Kolette and Liam and thank you for representing Dungarvan Golf Club so well. Thank you also for all the hard work this year, it was a very busy Centenary year for our officers. The K Club was a welcome day out!

BANK HOLIDAY MONDAY SCRAMBLE           

We had a packed timesheet and dry weather on Monday for our popular Bank Holiday scramble. Results in next weeks edition.

QUIZ NIGHT

We are holding a fun quiz night this Wednesday 30^th October in the clubhouse at 8pm. We have the fantastic Bob O’Brien as quizmaster and a great night is guaranteed! Teams can be made up on the night also. All are welcome.

ASHES V’S LISMORE

The Ashes V’s Lismore competition will take place in Dungarvan Golf Club on Saturday 2^nd November at 11.40am. Entry fee is €10 cash for competition prizes and meal after the competition. Wear club colours if possible. Please print your name on the sheet in Locker room for consideration for the team of 18 players (9 pairings). Selection for the team will be made on Friday prior to match. Play format is fourball better ball stableford match play competition. Presentation of prizes and meal at 6pm in the clubhouse.

JUNIOR GOLF NEWS

On Tuesday 29th we have Captains Prize to the Juniors kindly sponsored by Mr. Liam Hansbury. There is both an 18 holes and 9 Holes. On Friday 1st November we have our Junior Captains Prize kindly sponsored by Sarah Moynihan and Diarmuid Mackle. Again, we have 18 holes and 9 Holes. Presentation of prizes will take place after the event on Friday, please attend. Enter your name online or ring the Proshop at 058-44707. Any enquiries relating to junior activities can be directed to our Junior Convenor David Hayes.

LADIES NIGHT AT THE BALLET

Last call for our Ladies trip to Wexford to the Ballet and evening meal. Ballet Ireland is performing Nutcracker Sweeties on Saturday November 30th and we are planning a return bus from Dungarvan and Kilmacthomas to Wexford, 3 course pre theatre supper in Whites hotel, with tickets to the show. Total cost will be €75 with a deposit of €20 required before November 1st to secure your place. Please add you names to list in locker room. Looking forward to a great night out.

60.COM

Our 60.com competition on 23rd October had a full timesheet. The weather was very kind and we had a lovely mild afternoon. The winners were: 1^st Michael Stack 20pts, 2^nd Tim Browne 20pts, 3^rd Maurice Cliffe 17pts. If you’re interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
It was misty and dull last Friday morning but it didn’t deter our Fun Friday golfers.
We were delighted to welcome two new members namely Martin Rousse and Geraldine Veale. We are always pleased to see new people as the foursomes are a great way to integrate and meet others. Thanks also to our Lady Captain Kolette Enright who regularly supports this event. 1^st Charles Daly and Martin Rousse 35 ½, 2^nd John Moran and Kolette Enright 40. We are back again next Friday (Nov 1). No need to book beforehand. We play Scotch Foursomes and we play the back nine. Shotgun start at 9 am.

GET INTO GOLF
It is important for both our Get into Golf men and women to continue to practice their golf over the Winter months – even if it is only a few holes. If anyone still wants to mark cards for handicap purposes just contact a member of the Get into Golf Committee.

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 25^th October. The numbers drawn were 9, 15, 24 and 28. The jackpot was €4,100, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €4,200 for the next draw. We had one match 3 winner this week. John Supple who wins €100. The next draw will take place on Friday 1^st November at 3pm and the jackpot is €4,200. Thank you to everyone who supports our Lotto. All funds raised are used to develop our course.

BRIDGE

We had a great crowd for the second week of bridge last Friday. We are back every Friday at 11am in the clubhouse – all are welcome.
