LIONS CLUB FUNDRAISER – OPEN SCRAMBLE
On Sunday 8^th December we are holding an Open 11H Champagne Mixed Scramble (any combination) and all proceeds will go to the annual Lions Cub fundraiser. We appeal to members and visitors to book in and support this very important fundraiser. If you are not available to play, we have donation buckets in the clubhouse all week. CHRISTMAS SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE
We held our last social scramble of 2024 on last Sunday afternoon with a large turnout and glorious sunshine. Many thanks to Marian Mulcahy who helped with the running of the event. A huge thanks to Tom Daly and Eoin and Kellie in the bar who provided welcome food in the bar later.

CENTENARY CHILDRENS CHRISTMAS PARTY

Our Centenary Children’s Christmas party for members and their families will be held on Sunday the 15th December at 3 p.m. at the Clubhouse at €10.00 per child. Santa Claus will visit and distribute Christmas gifts to the children. There will be party food and plenty of fun and games. Please e-mail or telephone the office and confirm if your child, or grandchildren will be attending, with their name, gender and age on or before the Thursday the 6th December 2024.

We have a great new member joining rate for 2025 – join us for €430 (+ €28 Golf Ireland fee) for the year. Dungarvan Golf Club has lots to offer everyone. We have an excellent Pro Shop for all your equipment needs, our PGA Professional David Hayes who along with giving great golf advice gives lessons to beginners and seasoned golfers. We have a range of competitions and casual golf options for all types of golfers.

Our beautiful bar and restaurant are very popular where Tom and his team serve delicious breakfasts, lunches and evening meals daily.  We have plenty of social events throughout the year and also weekly bridge, cards, book clubs, day trips and visits to other golf courses. GET INTO GOLF WINTER LESSONS
David Hayes our PGA Professional will be available in Tinhalla Driving range on Monday and Wednesday evenings in 2025 from 6.30 pm for group lessons. This is a great opportunity for everyone to improve their golf and be ready for the Summer season. If you are interested, please contact any member of the Get into Golf Committee.

EAMON KEANE WINS MATCHPLAY

Our Gents Singles Matchplay, kindly sponsored by club stalwart Martin Lynch reached a conclusion over the weekend. The young pretender Harry Breen squared up to his more experienced opponent Eamon Keane. Having accounted for Martin Landers, Gary Shepard, Martin Lynch and Ian Gourlay, Harry had every reason to be confident even though he was giving his opponent 13 shots. But Eamon had shown great mettle during the summer months to dispatch John Carroll, Pat Cumisky, Noel Brennan and John Gough and was worthy of his place in the final. Playing consistent golf and using his shots wisely, Eamon prevailed in a very sporting final. Congrats to the winner and runner up and gratitude’s to Sponsor Martin.

We had a great turnout for our weekly Youngones competition last Wednesday with an almost full timesheet of ladies. 1^st Celia Power (28) 16pts, 2^nd Theresa Guiry (25) 15pts, 3^rd Colette O’Mahony (27) 15pts.

60.COM

Our 60.Com competition on 27 November was hugely competitive with excellent scores – having to be broken down to get the winners. Each week now we have a full timesheet and guys raring to go. The winners were: 1^st Tim Brown21pts, 2^nd Eamonn Keane 21pts, 3^rd Kevin Kiersey 21pts.

Our Christmas party will be held on Wednesday 11 December. The booking sheet is available in the men’s locker room. The format is a nine-hole scramble with dinner afterwards in the clubhouse. If you are interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
Once again, last Friday we fell foul of the weather with continuous heavy rain all day!
Hopefully we will be back this Friday (Dec 6). It is a real social event. We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes. If you would like to join us, come to the clubhouse at 8.45am. Shotgun start at 9am.

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on 29^th November. The numbers drawn were 15, 19, 20 and 24. The jackpot was €4,600, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €4,700 for the next draw. We had two match 3 winners – Bridget Aherne and John Supple – who win €50 each. The next draw will take place on Friday 6^th December. Thank you to everyone who supports our Lotto. All funds raised are used to develop our course.

LOTTO LUCKY DIP

Each month we have a special lucky dip prize for the purchasers of €2 and €5 tickets. This is in addition to the normal prizes. Both envelope and online tickets will be included. BE IN TO WIN!!!
