MERRY CHRISTMAS

We would like to wish all our Members, Sponsors, Volunteers, Friends, Visitors and Staff at Dungarvan Golf Club a very Happy Christmas. 2024 was a very special year for our club celebrating 100 years. So many people worked tirelessly to ensure that we had many wonderful celebrations and events and we thank each and every one who were involved in making this a momentous year. There are too many names to mention!

We would like to thank our members for their continued support of our club throughout the past year. We especially remember at this time members and their families who have lost a loved one. We would like to thank all our members who volunteer their free time here at Dungarvan Golf Club and whose hard work is really appreciated. We welcome all new members who joined during 2024 and look forward to welcoming more in 2025.

We also wish to thank all our generous sponsors who continue to support our club. We encourage you to shop local and support those businesses that support our club. We hope the New Year is a healthy one for you and your family.

We have some fantastic Christmas Gift ideas for the golfers in your life! Our Gift Vouchers are always a popular choice and they can be used to pay towards membership subscriptions. Simply give us a call and we can send them out to you. Our Pro Shop is fully stocked with everything a golfer needs from clubs, golf bags, trolleys, clothing and gift vouchers! AUTUMN MIXED LEAGUE

After 8 weeks of competition we are delighted to announce the top three winning teams in the Autumn Mixed League as follows: 1^st Mercedez Benz 77 pts, 2^nd Jaguar BMW 75 pts, 3^rd Rolls Royce 73 pts.

The individual winners were Best Man Maurice Cliffe 115 pts and Best Lady Celia Power 110 pts A big thank you to everybody for taking part in this exciting competition and we look forward to having a Spring League to keep us entertained in the New Year.

JOIN US IN 2025

We have a great new member joining rate for 2025 – join us for €430 (+ €28 Golf Ireland fee) for the year. Dungarvan Golf Club has lots to offer everyone. We have an excellent Pro Shop for all your equipment needs, our PGA Professional David Hayes who along with giving great golf advice gives lessons to beginners and seasoned golfers. We have a range of competitions and casual golf options for all types of golfers.

Our beautiful bar and restaurant are very popular where Tom and his team serve delicious breakfasts, lunches and evening meals daily.  We have plenty of social events throughout the year and also weekly bridge, cards, book clubs, day trips and visits to other golf courses. GET INTO GOLF WINTER LESSONS
There are a few places left for Winter golf lessons at Tinhalla driving range. These lessons will be given by our PGA Professional David Hayes and will start on Monday Jan 13 for four consecutive weeks. It is a great opportunity to improve your techniques and be ready for the new golfing season.

Our Youngones Christmas lunch is on this Wednesday 18^th December at 2pm in the clubhouse restaurant and we look forward to a lovely afternoon. 60.COM

We had our 60.com Christmas Party on Wednesday 11^th Dec. This is one of our highlights of the year which starts with a Nine Hole scramble followed by dinner in the clubhouse. We had a “full house” for the day and lots of happy participants. Tom Daly, Kelly, Antoinette and Eoin served up a meal “fit for a king”! Thank you to Pat Power who runs our weekly competition and for organising our outings throughout the year.

For the remaining participants there were prizes galore! If you are interested in social golf and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
Last Friday morning was ideal for golf and consequently we had a large turnout. It was our last foursomes for 2024. Special thank you goes to Colette Power who runs our Friday Foursomes each week, always there to welcome our golfers with a friendly smile. We really appreciate it!

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 13^th December. The numbers drawn were 2, 3, 9 and 22. The jackpot was €4,800, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €4,900 for the next draw. We had one match 3 winner – Rose Whelan – who wins €100. The next draw will take place on Friday 20^th December. Thank you to everyone who supports our Lotto. All funds raised are used to develop our course.

LOTTO LUCKY DIP

Each month we have a special lucky dip prize for the purchasers of €2 and €5 tickets. This is in addition to the normal prizes. Both envelope and online tickets will be included. BE IN TO WIN!!!

BRIDGE

Bridge takes place every Friday at 11am in the clubhouse – all are welcome.
