CAPTAINS DRIVE IN & SCRAMBLE

Our Captains Drive In will take place on Bank Holiday Monday 3^rd February at 12 Midday followed by the Captain’s 9H Scramble with a shotgun start at 12.30pm. We hope all our members can join us to welcome our 2025 Captains Martin T. Landers and Bernie Lynch and wish them the best for their year ahead.

Entry fee is €10 and €5 for Juniors which includes food after golf. Closing date to enter the scramble is Saturday 1^st February at 8pm.  Please add your name to the time sheet any time between 9am and 12.20pm.  The timesheet is open for bookings.

JOIN US IN 2025

We have a great new member joining rate for 2025. Join for €430 + €28 Golf Ireland fee for the year. Dungarvan Golf Club has lots to offer everyone. We have an excellent Pro Shop for all your equipment needs, our PGA Professional David Hayes who along with giving great golf advice gives lessons to beginners and seasoned golfers. We have a range of competitions and casual golf options for all types of golfers.

Our beautiful bar and restaurant are very popular where Tom and his team serve delicious breakfasts, lunches and evening meals daily.  We have plenty of social events throughout the year and also weekly bridge, cards, book clubs, day trips and visits to other golf courses. The Annual General meeting of the Men’s Club will be held on Tuesday 21st January 2025 at 7.30pm in the clubhouse.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE
The next social scramble is scheduled for next Sunday Jan 26. Shotgun start at 2 pm.
Timesheet is open. If you are free and would like to join us, just go online and book your place. This is both fun and a social event – an ideal way to meet others in the club.
It is open to all members.

Our Membership Renewal Invoices have gone out to all members by email. We encourage members to pay in full or set up a payment plan using our BRS Memberships system. Please contact the office if you require assistance with this or if you had difficulty receiving the email.

MIXED SPRING LEAGUE 2025

The Mixed Spring League is underway! Please check notice board in the locker rooms to get your team information.  Regular updates will be given during the course of the competition. We are looking forward to a fun competition to keep us active as the evenings are starting to brighten up.

60.COM

At last, we got back to playing our 60.com competition on 15^th Jan. The cold weather disappeared and we had a lovely sunny day. The course was playing long as is evidenced by the scores. Results: 1^st Mossie MacNamara 18pts, 2^nd John T Moloney 17pts, 3^rd John Dalton 16pts.

We are delighted to see John Dalton back in the prizes after his recent illness. Well done, John. If you are interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, the put your name on our time sheet any Wednesday.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES

Our first foursomes of 2025 took place last Friday morning in ideal weather conditions. Many thanks to everyone who supported the event. We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes and we usually play the back nine holes. 1^st Adrian O’ Driscoll and Martin Rouse 38 ¾, 2^nd John Dalton and Carol Walsh 40. We are back again next Friday Jan 24. Shotgun start at 9 am.

WINTER GOLF LESSONS
The first round of these lessons took place last week in Tinhalla driving range.  Due to huge demand we had to run them on Monday and Wednesday nights from 7-8 pm.
David Hayes our PGA Professional is in charge and the feedback is amazing. This is a new initiative this year and is very successful, just coming at the right time of year to encourage our golfers back on the golf course.

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 17^th Jan. The numbers drawn were 7, 15, 17 and 28. The jackpot was €5,300, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €5,400 for the next draw. We had three match 3 winners – Tommy Frost, David Cashman and Micheal Mehigan who win €34 each. The next draw will take place on Friday 24^th January. Thank you to everyone who supports our Lotto. Tickets can be purchased on our website or in our clubhouse. All funds raised are used to develop our course.

BRIDGE

Bridge takes place every Friday at 11am in the clubhouse – all are welcome to join us.
