CONDOLENCES

We extend our sincere sympathies to Liam Treacy on the recent passing of his brother Michael. We also offer our condolences to Chairman Pat Power on the passing of his brother-in-law William O’Driscoll. May they rest in peace.

CAPTAINS DRIVE IN

Our Captains Drive in is taking place on Sunday 16^th March at 2pm followed by a 9-hole scramble shotgun start at 2.30pm. Entry Fee is €10 cash and €5 for juniors which includes food after golf. Closing date for entry is Friday 14^th at 8pm. We hope you can all join us on this special day for Captain Edward Moynihan and Lady Captain Bernie Lynch.

PARENT CLUB AGM

The Parent Club Annual General Meeting takes place this Wednesday 26^th February 2025 at 7.30pm.

JUNIOR GOLF

Our Junior Golf season is not too far away and we look forward to lots of new Juniors joining us this year. Our Junior Convenor David Hayes and his committee have great plans for junior golf this year from lessons to on course practice and weekly competitions in the summer. If you have a child aged 6 and upwards who would like to try golf or improve their golf then Dungarvan Golf Club’s Junior Club is a great way to make friends and learn golf skills with our golf PRO David. Give us a call to request an application form and join up for 2025.

SPRING LEAGUE

Our Spring League scores are as follows: Best individual man is Pat Power with 149 points. Best individual lady is Louise Moloney – 97 points. Top three teams are 1^st Tottenham 458 points, 2^nd Man Utd 384 points, 3^rd Liverpool 357 points. Please see full results report in the locker rooms.  Your best nine scores for the duration of the league will be counted. Lower scores that have already been entered will be replaced by a later higher score.

JOIN US IN 2025

We have a great new member joining rate for 2025. Join for €430 + €28 Golf Ireland fee for the year. Dungarvan Golf Club has lots to offer everyone. We have an excellent Pro Shop for all your equipment needs, our PGA Professional David Hayes who along with giving great golf advice gives lessons to beginners and seasoned golfers. We have a range of competitions and casual golf options for all types of golfers. Our Membership Renewal Invoices have gone out to all members by email. We encourage members to pay in full or set up a payment plan using our BRS Memberships system. Please contact the office if you require assistance with this or if you had difficulty receiving the email.

We are excited to celebrate our 20^th Anniversary of the Youngones this Wednesday 26^th February! The timesheet has been extended and it is great to see everyone booked in to play. 60.COM

Wednesday 19^th February was a wet and windy day. However, we had a large group playing in the 60.com competition. Given the conditions the results were excellent. 1^st Craig Susdorf 18pts, 2^nd Walter Cullinane 17pts. If you are interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
Very little golf was played last week due to poor weather. Our Friday Foursomes were no exception but we do hope to be back this Friday. We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes each Friday morning with a shotgun start at 9 am. It is a social event with a coffee and chat in the clubhouse later. All are welcome.

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 21^st February. The numbers drawn were 4, 6, 9 and 26. The jackpot was €5,800, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €5,900 for the next draw. We had five match 3 winners – Patrick Cumiskey, Michael Garrigan, Paddy Kennedy, Jimmy O Donnell and Sonia Hannah Buckley – who win €25 each. Thank you to everyone who supports our Lotto. Tickets can be purchased on our website or in our clubhouse. All funds raised are used to develop our course.

PRO SHOP

As we eagerly await the start of the season and some better weather, our Pro Shop is gearing up. David has all the latest releases from the major golf manufacturers. Ping have launched the new G440 range while Taylor Made have a new Qi35 range. Mizuno have updated their fitting system to include custom fitted wedges, all are available in David’s Pro Shop. If you are contemplating upgrading your equipment, call to David for professional advice.
