CAPTAINS DRIVE IN

Our Captains Drive in is taking place on Sunday 16^th March at 2pm followed by a 9-hole scramble shotgun start at 2.30pm. Entry Fee is €10 cash and €5 for juniors which includes food after golf. Closing date for entry is Friday 14^th at 8pm. We hope you can all join us on this special day for Captain Edward Moynihan and Lady Captain Bernie Lynch and Junior Captain AJ Hayes.

ST PATRICKS DAY OPEN SCRAMBLE

TABLE QUIZ

Thank you to everyone who attended our Table Quiz last Wednesday, we had a great turnout on the night with over 16 tables and lots of fun with the wonderful Bob O’Brien as Quizmaster. Thank you to everyone who was involved with making the night a great success.

JUNIOR GOLF

Our Junior Golf season starts on 1^st April and we welcome all the new Juniors joining us this year. Our Junior Convenor David Hayes and his committee have great plans for junior golf this year from lessons to on course practice and weekly competitions in the summer. If you have a child aged 6 and upwards who would like to try golf or improve their golf then Dungarvan Golf Club’s Junior Club is a great way to make friends and learn golf skills with our golf PRO David. Give us a call to request an application form and join up for 2025.

We welcome all our new members who have joined us this year. If you are interested in joining as a member, we have a great new member joining rate for 2025. Join for €430 + €28 Golf Ireland fee for the year. Dungarvan Golf Club has lots to offer everyone. We have an excellent Pro Shop for all your equipment needs, our PGA Professional David Hayes who along with giving great golf advice gives lessons to beginners and seasoned golfers. We have a range of competitions and casual golf options for all types of golfers. We had a wonderful Spring afternoon Wednesday 5th March. Despite the weather been poor in the previous week the course was in excellent condition and a credit to the course staff. The winners were: 1^st   Pat Power 20pts, 2^nd Jack Elstead 19pts, 3^rd   Michael Dwyer 18pts.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES

It turned out to me a wet and cold Friday morning for our Foursomes, but none the less we had a great turnout.  Everyone was delighted with the hot coffee and tea in the bar later. Results

Thanks to everyone for playing. We play nine holes of Scotch Foursomes over the back nine. Shotgun start at 9 am. Why not join us for some social golf and enjoy the hospitality in the bar later.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE

Our next social scramble is scheduled for Sunday Mar 23. These scrambles are open to all members.  Shotgun start at 4pm. Booking is open so go online and book your place. It is a social event and a fun way to spend your Sunday afternoon.

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 7th March. The numbers drawn were 8, 9, 16 and 21. The jackpot was €6,000, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €6,100 for the next draw. We had one match 3 winner, Carol Walsh, who wins €200 as no match 3 winner last week. Thank you to everyone who supports our Lotto. Tickets can be purchased on our website or in our clubhouse. All funds raised are used to develop our course.

PRO SHOP

As we eagerly await the start of the season, our Pro Shop is gearing up. David has all the latest releases from the major golf manufacturers. Ping have launched the new G440 range while Taylor Made have a new Qi35 range. Mizuno have updated their fitting system to include custom fitted wedges, all are available in David’s Pro Shop. If you are contemplating upgrading your equipment, call to David for professional advice.
