JUNIOR GOLF MEMBERSHIP

Our Junior Golf season starts on 1^st April and we welcome all the new Juniors joining us this year. Our Junior Convenor David Hayes and his committee have great plans for junior golf this year from lessons to on course practice and weekly competitions in the summer. If you have a child aged 6 and upwards who would like to try golf or improve their golf then Dungarvan Golf Club’s Junior Club is a great way to make friends and learn golf skills with our golf PRO David. GET INTO GOLF 2025
Our information night for Get into Golf 2025 for men and women is being held on
Wed Mar 26 at 7 pm.  There is a huge interest in golf at the moment with waiting lists now in place. The programme for ladies begins on Tuesday April 8 with the men starting on Wed April 16.

PERSONAL GOLF INSURANCE

If you are interested in taking our personal golf insurance this year, please contact the office before 31^st March to either renew or take out a new policy. Total cost is €25.

SPRING LEAGUE RESULTS

Our Spring League has now concluded and the winning team is Tottenham – Congratulations to Matt Curran, Walter Cullinane, Pat Power, Colette O’Mahony and Mairead Flynn. The Best Lady is Daphne Power with 165pts and Best Man is Patrick V. Power with 189pts. Full results are available in the clubhouse. We hope to run a similar competition later in 2025 and early 2026.

LADIES HOME ALLIANCE

The Home Alliance Captains Day kindly presented by Marcella McGovern will take place on Saturday April 5th. The timesheet is open. Please enter your name in the time slot which is reserved from 11am. You must also enter the competition of the day. You can only play in the Home Alliance on Saturday 5th. Cost of entry is €5. The closing date for entry is Tuesday 1st April at 4pm. There will be a draw for partners and this will be posted online. The presentation of prizes and AGM will take place in the club house after the competition. Time will be posted on the day.

The weather was glorious last Wednesday 19^th March for our weekly Youngones competition and a packed timesheet once again. 1^st Paula Prendiville (46) 19pts, 2^nd Breid Scanlon (38) 18pts CB, 3^rd Maria Kiersey (Kilmac) (24) 18pts. Our next competition is this Wednesday 26^th.

60.COM

We had magnificent weather conditions for our 60.com on Wednesday 19 March. The course was an excellent condition with “summer conditions” coming into place. We had a full-time sheet and some excellent scores. The winners were: 1^st Tom Power 22pts, 2^nd Pat Crowley 20pts, 3^rd John Moran 20pts. If you’re interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
Yet again we had a large turnout for our foursomes last Friday morning. Conditions were ideal with the rain holding off until we were safely back in the clubhouse.
Results: 1^st John Moran and Marion Burke 30 ½, 2^nd John Dalton and Ellen Power 36 ½, 3^rd Charles Daly and Margaret Keane 37 ¼. We are back again this Friday (Mar 28). Shotgun start at 9 am. All are welcome.


SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE
We held a very successful social scramble last Sunday afternoon with ideal weather conditions and a large entry. Many thanks to our Vice Captain Patrick Cumisky and Kolette Enright for running the event. A huge thanks also to Tom Daly and staff in the bar for providing refreshments after. 1^st William Irwin, Kolette Enright, Margaret Keane and Sheila Ryan 27 1/6, 2^nd Larry Fahey, Pat Crowley, Carol Walsh and Linda Creamer 28 ½, 3^rd Brian Kennedy, Les Ford, Jane Kiely and Geraldine Veale 28 5/6.

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 21^st march. The numbers drawn were 7, 17, 26 and 27. The jackpot was €6,200, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €6,300 for the next draw. We had three match 3 winners – Martin Lynch, Donal Connolly and Jim &Colette O’Mahony – who win €34 each. Thank you to everyone who supports our lotto. All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.

BRIDGE

Bridge takes place every Friday at 11am in the clubhouse – all are welcome to join us.

The Dungarvan Golf Triangle is excellent value for money, €90 to play three courses. It’s very popular with golfers visiting Dungarvan from all over the country and beyond. For bookings, please call us on 058-43310.

PRO SHOP

As we eagerly await the start of the season, our Pro Shop is gearing up. David has all the latest releases from the major golf manufacturers. Ping have launched the new G440 range while Taylor Made have a new Qi35 range. Mizuno have updated their fitting system to include custom fitted wedges, all are available in David’s Pro Shop. If you are contemplating upgrading your equipment, call to David for professional advice.
