JUNIOR GOLF MEMBERSHIP

Our Junior Golf season has started and we have had lots of new juniors joining this year which is fantastic! Junior Golf Lessons start back this Saturday 12^th April. Lessons are €5 and are great fun. Our Junior Convenor David Hayes and his committee have great plans for junior golf this year from lessons to on course practice and weekly competitions in the summer. If you have a child aged 6 and upwards who would like to try golf or improve their golf skills then Dungarvan Golf Club’s Junior Club is a great way to make friends and learn golf with our golf PRO David. Give us a call to request an application form and join up for 2025. Age 6 – 12 is €82 and Age 13 – 18 €107 (includes €7 Golf Ireland membership fee).

GET INTO GOLF 2025
We are all set to go with our new golfers for 2025. Our ladies programme starts this Tuesday (April 8) while the men begin on Wednesday (April 16). Our golfers will be in the capable hands of our PGA Professional David Hayes for four weeks and will then be taken out on our fine course with our established players. We welcome them and wish them the very best in Dungarvan Golf Club.

HOME ALLIANCE CAPTAINS DAY

This Wednesday 9^th we have our Fun Easter Competition, team of 3 two scores to count on all holes.

60.COM

We had a full timesheet for our 60.com on Wednesday 2^nd April. This was despite a large number of our members being absent from the competition due to practicing for their upcoming JB Carr match. The weather was idea and the scoring excellent. The winners were: 1^st Dave Byrne 22pts, 2^nd Jack Elstead 21pts, 3^rd Jim O’Mahony 21pts. If you are interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.  

FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMES
Our course is in great condition at the moment and is attracting a lot of golfers out on the fairways. We were delighted to welcome a large number to our foursomes last Friday morning. Results 1^st Michael Garrigan and Mary M. Ryan 36, 2^nd Les Ford and Ellen Power 39 ¼, 3^rd Kate Morrissey and Kolette Enright 43 ¾. We will be back again this Friday (April 11). Shotgun start at 9am.

SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLE
Our next social scramble is scheduled for this Sunday (April 13). These scrambles are open to all members and are a fun way to spend your Sunday evening especially now that summer time is here. Shotgun start at 5pm. Booking has opened. Just go online and book your place.

LOTTO RESULTS

We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 4^th April.  The numbers drawn were 4, 6, 9 and 27.
The jackpot was €6,400, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €6,500 for the next draw.
We had one match 3 winner – Noreen Barry – who wins €100. Thank you to everyone who supports our lotto. All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.

PRO SHOP

Our Proshop is geared up for the new Season. Resident Professional David has all the latest offerings from the major brands including the Qi35 from TaylorMade, M Craft putters from Mizuno and much more. As always David offers professional advice so ensure you get the most out of your game. Dates for your Diary include a Cobra Demo Day on Thursday 17th April and Callaway hosting a Demo Day on Friday 9th May. TaylorMade are also here on Tuesday 20th May.

Join for €430 + €28 Golf Ireland fee for the year. Dungarvan Golf Club has lots to offer everyone. We have an excellent Pro Shop for all your equipment needs, our PGA Professional David Hayes who along with giving great golf advice gives lessons to beginners and seasoned golfers. BRIDGE

Bridge takes place every Friday at 11am in the clubhouse – all are welcome to join us.
