AUTUMN CLASSIC PRESENTATION
The presentation of prizes for our autumn classic took place on Saturday 21st September. The classic itself was the fundraiser for the club and was highly successful with excellent participation across all four days. These fundraisers are vital to the success of the club and are highly popular with members. There was a huge crowd in the clubhouse as the United Frends for Education Scramble was taking place on the same day
LADIES CLUB OUTINGOur annual away outing took place last Wed 18th and Thursday 19th September and what a fabulous two days of golf it turned out to be. 25 ladies took to the fairways in Ballykisteen in brilliant sunshine. Our prizegiving followed accompanied by some welcome beverages to cool off. We retired to enjoy the facilities and later on a 4-course meal. Next morning we travelled down the road to Tipperary where our Captain Kolette introduced us to the Florida Scramble which was well received by all. The sun shone yet again. We enjoyed a welcome meal in the clubhouse followed by prizegiving

UFFE GOLF CLASSIC
We were delighted to welcome the United Friends for Education Golf Classic to our club last Saturday. Our Captain Liam Hansbury is involved with this wonderful charity who do fantastic work supporting education projects in Africa. We received wonderful feedback from UFFE organisers and visitors playing on the day. They were very impressed with the course and club house facilities and the great meals served by our catering team.
ANNUAL LEFT-HANDERS COMPETITION
The 49th Annual lefthanders competition for 2024 will be played on Thursday 26th, Friday 27th & Saturday 28th September. Competition is open to Ladies and Gentleman (Members only). Full details are posted in locker rooms.
WEEKLY SPAR QUALIFIER
Our weekly Spar Open Gents/Ladies qualifier returns this Friday 20th and tee times are available online. Week 12 qualifiers were Maria Kiersey, Paul Breen, Mary Barnes (East Cork) and Conor Walsh (West Waterford). The SPAR Final will be held on Sunday 13th October.
LADIES HOME ALLIANCE
The first round of the Home Alliance 2024-2025 takes place on Tuesday 8th and Friday/Saturday 11th/12th of October. The Home Alliance consists of 6 competitions that take place in conjunction with the regular Tuesday and Friday/Saturday competitions. There is also a Home Alliance Captain’s Day at the end of the season which will take place in April.We welcome all club members and particularly those who have not taken part in this event before to sign up. The entry fee is €20. Place your money in an envelope with your name and Home Alliance written on the outside and put the envelope in the press under the computer.The Closing Date for entries is Wednesday 2nd October. You must pay your fee by the closing date if you wish to take part in the Home Alliance Competition.

JUNIOR GOLF NEWS
A fantastic turnout again for our Junior Coaching last Saturday with almost forty kids in attendance. Thanks again to Alan O’Donnell, David Kavanagh and Liam Browne for their invaluable assistance. This Saturday 28th is our final session of the summer. All are welcome. We hosted the Pennant Cup last Sunday with Cathal McKenna taking the honours with a brilliant 40 points. Senan Devine and Fionnan Drohan were second and third respectively with 37pts. In our 9H pre junior competition Dan Moynihan took the honours with 19 points by 2 from Sean Queally. Next week is the John Casey Shield starting at 2pm with the 9H Pre junior competition commencing at 2.30pm. AUTUMN MIXED LEAGUE
The Autumn Mixed League will be a team competition and commence on Monday 7th October and run for ten weeks. Each team will be comprised of ladies and gents with at least one of either gender on each team. The league will play over the first nine holes of any ladies or gents competition in play over the ten-week period.
When entering a competition, a team member in addition to completing his/her scorecard will also complete a mixed league card and submit this card in the dedicated box in the entrance lobby of the clubhouse. The best four cards from four team members of each team will count towards the weekly scoring. The highest accumulated team score winning after ten weeks. In addition to team prizes there will be an individual prize for the highest scoring lady and the highest scoring gent. The closing date for entry is the 28th September. A draw for teams will be made on the 29th September. Please join in on this fun, competitive club team event.

We basked in beautiful sunshine last Wednesday for our weekly 9H competition. It was glorious! 1st Frances Moynihan (34) 19pts, 2nd Maria A Kiersey (41) 17pts. Our next competition is on Wed 25th September at 11am.
60.COM
We had our 60.com outing to Gowran Park Golf Club on Wednesday 18th September. This was our sixth and final outing of 2024. Over the year we have also visited Tipperary, Cahir Park, Tramore, Faithlegg and New Ross. We have had some wonderful days out and great enjoyment. The winners of the Gowran Park Outing were:

It was lovely to see so many new members join us in glorious sunshine and enjoying the coffee and chat in the bar later. Get into Golf Scramble and Social Evening (Mixed)This was our first time having this event and it was a huge success. It was an opportunity for all our new golfers to get together for a real social evening. Firstly, we had a scramble and then everyone retired to the bar where Tom Daly and his staff had food ready for everyone. Later a presentation was made to all the participants.
RULES, PROTOCOL & ETIQUETTEDavid Hayes (our PGA Professional) has kindly offered to host an evening covering rules, etiquette and protocol on the golf course. This will take place on Monday Oct 14 at 6.30 pm. Keep the date free.

LOTTO RESULTS
We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 20th September. The numbers drawn were 7, 16, 17 and 18. The jackpot was €3,600, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €3,700 for the next draw. We had one match 3 winner – Coffee 5 – who wins €100. The next draw will take place on Friday 27th September at 3.30pm. Thank you to everyone who supports our Lotto. All funds raised are used to develop our course.
