JUNIOR GOLF MEMBERSHIP
Our Junior Golf season starts on 1st April and we are thrilled to welcome all the new Juniors joining us this year. Our Junior Convenor David Hayes and his committee have great plans for junior golf this year from lessons to on course practice and weekly competitions in the summer. If you have a child aged 6 and upwards who would like to try golf or improve their golf skills then Dungarvan Golf Club’s Junior Club is a great way to make friends and learn golf with our golf PRO David. Give us a call to request an application form and join up for 2025. Age 6 – 12 is €82 and Age 13 – 18 €107 (includes €7 Golf Ireland membership fee).
EASTER MONDAY SCRAMBLE

INFORMATION NIGHT GET INTO GOLF 2025There was a great buzz in the clubhouse during the week when we hosted our information evening for ladies and men who are interested in participating in our Get into Golf programme. We were oversubscribed and unfortunately, we had to put waiting lists in place for both men and women. Our ladies programme starts on Tuesday April 8 and the men begin on April 16. We are so lucky to have David Hayes our PGA professional on site who conducts the lessons and is a great supporter of the programme. Thank you to our brilliant Get Into Golf Committee for all their hard work ensuring this programme is a great success each year.
PERSONAL GOLF INSURANCE
If you signed up for golf insurance last year your insurance cover expires next Monday March 31st. If you are interested in taking out personal golf insurance this year please contact the office. The cost is €25 per year, with payment due by April 1st.
HOME ALLIANCE CAPTAINS DAY
The Home Alliance Captains Day is on Saturday 5th April. If you are a Home Alliance member and playing in the competition, you must play on Saturday only and in conjunction with the competition of the day (€5 Home Alliance plus €8 competition fee). All other lady club members not playing in the Home Alliance may play the Fri/Sat alternate day competition as usual.

Our 60.com competition on 26th March had the largest number of players since it started almost 25 years ago. The conditions were very good despite the fact that the greens had been heavily sanded to improve their firmness for the summer months. The scoring was excellent. The winners were: 1st Des Cleary 22pts, 2nd Pat Morrissey 21pts, 3rd Tim Browne 21pts. If you are interested in social golf, and are over 60 years of age, then join us any Wednesday by putting your name on our timesheet.
FUN FRIDAY FOURSOMESThe Friday Foursomes is attracting a large number of golfers each Friday morning despite the early start at 9 am. SUNDAY SOCIAL SCRAMBLEOur next social scramble is scheduled for Sunday April 13. Shotgun start at 5 pm. Now that we have the long summer evenings these scrambles are ideal if you are free and want to meet other club members. They are great social events. Timesheet is open so book your place.
LADIES START OF SEASON SCRAMBLE
The timesheet is now open for the Ladies Start of Season Scramble taking place on Tuesday 8th April with a shotgun start at 17.30pm. Please add your name to the timesheet any time between 1pm – 17.20pm. Entry is €12 which includes a meal after golf (Cajun Chicken & Rice). We hope you can join us.
LOTTO RESULTS
We had our weekly Lotto Draw on Friday 28th March. The numbers drawn were 1, 6, 10 and 28. The jackpot was €6,300, and there was no winner. The jackpot is €6,400 for the next draw. We had six match 3 winners – Karen Frizelle, Pat Stack, Lucy Frost, Eugene Slater, Geraldine Veale and Frank O Donoghue – who win €25 each. Thank you to everyone who supports our lotto. All funds go towards our course development projects. Lotto tickets can be purchased on our website or in the clubhouse.

Resident Professional David has all the latest offerings from the major brands including the Qi35 from TaylorMade, M Craft putters from Mizuno and much more. As always David offers professional advice so ensure you get the most out of your game. Dates for your Diary include a Cobra Demo Day on Thursday 17th April and Callaway hosting a Demo Day on Friday 9th May. TaylorMade are also here on Tuesday 20th May.
